Life at Fort Horsted

The health of our residents is our primary concern, whether physical, emotional, social, intellectual or spiritual.

Residents can enjoy time with their family and friends in the home's lounges, where activities and entertainment are organised on a regular basis such as bingo, movie afternoons and sing-a-longs. We also organise regular shopping and seaside excursions.

We recognise the importance of good nutrition and we provide fresh, balanced and wholesome meals in a varied menu. Residents can enjoy their meals in one of our dining rooms, in their own rooms or in our landscaped garden, on a nice day. Assistance with feeding is given if needed, but always with respect for our residents. We cater for vegetarian and special dietary requirements and provide snacks and beverages throughout the day.

We operate an open visiting policy; family and friends are welcomed to join residents for meals and activities.

Newspapers and magazines can be arranged on request. A hairdresser visits the home weekly or when required in between regular visits.

Residents are encouraged to follow their faith. Local clergymen visit regularly and communion can be arranged.
